Explore the power of innovation

  • Do you wonder how creativity and design could help improve the effectiveness of your programmes and services?

  • Do you want to empower your staff and the communities you work with to use their experience to build better solutions, programmes and services?

  • Do you want to become a more agile, efficient organisation and motivate staff by building their skills to manage innovation processes?

We can help you explore the problem spaces you work in, identify promising areas for innovation, and design your innovation strategy and portfolio.

We love supporting organisations to build the skills, knowledge and partnerships to grow their impact through innovation. For example, we can design engaging and effective training for your management or staff on innovation management, or provide tailored mentoring and coaching for colleagues leading innovation programmes.

We can help you to run problem solving or ideation sprints, rapidly prototyping solutions to problems you’ve grappled with for years; or we can co-create with you a process to put lived experience and locally anchored knowledge and creativity in the lead in programme design.

Why innovation?

It’s long been a well-established fact that companies with an strong focus on innovation—whether through a dedicated team, embedded culture, or a strategic process—are generally more profitable over the long term. Some research also suggests that innovation activities have an immediate and strong positive impact on profitability.

While evidence of a similar link in social impact organisations is more limited, several studies suggest a similar effect, albeit on project outcomes rather than profit. There is a wealth of compelling examples of powerful innovation in the social impact sector, such as those featured here and here.

However, a gap in knowledge and capacity to integrate innovation still remains. A 2017 study found that 80% of nonprofit leaders aspire for their organisation to be innovative, but only 40% say that their organisation is well set up for this.
