The Social Innovation Consultancy is led by Cecilie Hestbæk. Cecilie directs all client projects but usually assembles a team of specialists to ensure each client can access leading expertise on exactly their problem.

Cecilie is a humanitarian innovation leader with over a decade of experience guiding teams through effective research and innovation processes. She helps organisations navigate the complexities of innovation in humanitarian contexts and use creativity, evidence and partnerships to drive impactful change.

Cecilie has deep expertise in analysing complex problems, identifying the most impactful areas for focused research and innovation activities, and designing strategies for fostering strong creative ecosystems within these. While at the Humanitarian Innovation Fund she directed the design of over 30 different innovation challenges to identify the most promising ideas and give teams the tools, resources and tactics needed to test, adapt and scale their solutions.

Cecilie has built and facilitated funding and learning journeys for over 100 innovation teams and advised a diverse range of for-purpose organisations, giving her a deep understanding of strategies for innovation management from inception to scale. As part of this, she has overseen the development of an array of learning materials and tools on strategy, innovation, and impact management. These including guidance on design thinking, participatory and inclusive design, and scaling.
