We are the Social Innovation Consultancy.

We offer a bespoke service to purpose-led organisations, helping them use creativity, evidence and partnerships to drive impactful change.

How can we help you?

Design a powerful strategy

  • Build a strategy for the future. The world is evolving more rapidly than ever before. Seismic shifts in geopolitics, exponential expansion of the capabilities and domains of both technology and healthcare, and an accelerating climate and biodiversity crisis are key drivers of the complex changes social changemakers must grapple with. Any strategy that is built for the present and unable to adapt will quickly become outdated. We can help you explore what current trends and potential futures might mean for your work, baking enough elasticity into your strategy to allow for it to evolve with the external environment.

  • Unlock the power of creativity. We can help you explore how research and innovation activities may enable you to strengthen your impact as a purpose-led company, funder, or frontline agency and support you to build an evidence-based portfolio of projects.

  • Scale your impact. Scaling new interventions or products in the social impact space can be frustrating, challenging and lonely. Drawing on our experience supporting over 100 humanitarian innovators, we can help you build your scaling strategy and develop detailed business plans to maximise your impact and diversify your funding.

Learn and lead

  • Build innovation as a mindset and daily practice. To help you build agile, creative teams who use innovation approaches to quickly and successfully solve problems and who are equipped to scale the best solutions, we can help you train and coach your team or partners in inclusive, ethical and effective research and innovation management.

  • Bringing people and ideas together. Spending time with colleagues and partners in person is both a rare luxury and absolute rocket fuel for ideas, collaboration and creativity. We can help you design and deliver inspiring and effective research and innovation meetings and events like The Humanitarian Innovation Forum 2025.

Let your evidence do the heavy lifting

  • Get the data you need to improve and grow your impact. In our experience, the most successful innovation teams have a compelling evidence strategy that underpins their business model and directs iterative cycles of testing and adapting. We can help you prioritise and collect data that will let you test, review and share your impact.

  • Use evidence to change minds. Many innovators experience extremely high barriers of entry to markets where consumers are not the direct buyers - such as the humanitarian market. We can help you map market entry points; plan how to collect the right data for key audiences; and decide how to use it to influence both practitioners and funders.

How we work with clients

Our approach centers on fostering a collaborative and safe environment that encourages imaginative and strategic thinking, creating the best conditions for teams to make the right decisions.

Always guided by rigorous evidence and analysis, we leverage knowledge of innovation strategies to guide teams through each stage of the project, acting as your coach and challenging you to experiment, reflect and learn.

Our values

The Social Innovation Consultancy was founded on the belief that creativity, collaboration and evidence can generate exceptional results. We work with purpose-led organisations to help them use research and innovation to better serve communities, people and the planet. We believe that problems should be solved as close to home as possible: we are deeply influenced by long-term partner MIT D-Lab’s philosophy that research and design is more sustainable and impactful if it is highly participatory and inclusive.

The Social Innovation Consultancy is all about partnerships: we draw on a network of experts, compiling tailored groups of leading practitioners for each project. Being small and nimble, our greatest strength lies in not knowing everything - but always knowing who to ask. For example, we may partner with a futures and foresight expert and an alternative finance expert to help a start-up chart a future-proof path to scaling. Or, to support a funder interested in exploring how to reduce gender-based violence, we may set up a project team with a protection and gender expert, a digital safety specialist and a behaviour change researcher.

When you bring your problem to us we will always make sure you have the best team possible to help you solve it.
